The late 1980's and early 1990's are known as the dawn of the age of the polymer framed, striker fired pistol. The Glock 17 had taken the law enforcement market by storm leaving the traditional steel frame hammer fired pistols in the dust. Compared to service weapons of old, the lightweight and easy to use large capacity 9mm pistol was like something from the future, every law enforcement agency wanted it. Riding the wave of that popularity, a myriad of other firearms manufacturers entered the fray with their own "wonder 9" in the United States, big names like Colt and Smith & Wesson threw their hat in the ring, some designs were good, others less so. One of the best designs, that endures to this day is the Steyr Mannlicher M9. Unique in its styling, the M9 offers the traditional polymer frame and striker firing mechanism many have come to know and love from Austrian made pistols. What sets the M9 apart from the crowd is its high grip profile, which holds the barrel access closer to the shooters hand, increasing accuracy by reducing muzzle rise and allowing for a quicker follow up shot. Of the crowd of pistols that came out of the "Wonder 9 Years" many faded into obscurity and others never made it off the drawing board, the Steyr Mannlicher M9 however, sees use internationally in the hands of some of the most elite military and law enforcement units.

ASG has faithfully recreated the teutonic lines of the Steyr M9A1 in this Co2 powered Airsoft pistol. The ASG M9A1 has an injection molded polymer frame complete with 20mm accessory rail, perfect for mounting weapon lights or lasers. Powered by a 12g CO2 powerlet in the grip, the M9A1 provides excellent power and gas efficiency, giving the shooter power in excess of 400 FPS and multiple magazines per CO2 cartridge.
